I arrived here wanting to enjoy a little time off my hectic life. I leave full of new knowledge and love of painting, having experienced the warmth of Janet and Peter in this beautiful corner of the UK. I promise to be back and spread the word to people who believe they have enjoyed everything in life. They haven’t!
Thank you, J & P, my beloved friends : )

Brambles in Devon
Residential courses at our 17th-century cottage.
We provide a 2-day experience that gives you a taste of what’s possible. Fast-paced with the opportunity to try out different media. A good way to decide if you like our teaching style and often leads to guests returning for the longer 5-day.
The 5-day being a slower-paced experience, with more time to go out to sketch and paint in nearby locations. We offer the opportunity for in-depth learning, and developing individual ideas and projects.
Both courses are suitable for beginners or experienced painters alike, emphasis being on a good foundation of siteing and drawing skills; a solid grounding in the technical practice of whatever media is chosen; and the development of a strong aesthetic.
We cater for special dietary needs, with some assistance as to general dietary requirements. this is discussed prior to the course start date.
