Two tutors with different styles….
Brambles Art Retreat has offered weekend and five day residential courses at their beautiful home “Brambles” for the last 16 years. They have also hosted courses at many beautiful locations worldwide, Japan, Amalfi, India, Morocco, France, Italy and Greece. With over 2500 visiting guests they have a wealth of experience to share.
Their philosophy is not just to teach a generic art course, they tailor their courses to suit the needs of each guest. Starting with basic instruction on how look and compose, how to draw and paint. They work with all levels of painter developing skills, improving techniques and are happy to push the boundaries in all different ways. They like teaching small groups of 6 – 10 students this allows them to really focus on each guest.
As two tutors with different styles of painting and teaching you benefit from both tutors experience and knowledge. Peter and Janet encourage develop and create with you during your stay. Peter and Janet demo in situ, they sometimes paint with you and most often help guests individually.
Guests come from all walks of life but all have the common interest of painting and drawing, their courses have a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, guests can paint as much or as little as they like. Wherever they choose to paint whether on location near where they live or further afield they take advantage of whatever the locality has to offer. This extends into local events, evening events, stunning restaurants, theater trips, opera trips, whale watching, dinner up the Eiffel tower, talks from local artists, all of which add to an exciting painting holiday experience.
Janet is a very good cook, when a course provides a catered service she cooks all the meals. Delicious home cooked food!
Roast dinner, pasta, chinese, sushi, the her famous quiches.
Peter likes to take guests for a walk after a day of focused painting. They have a new puppy called Jupiter. A very lively Cockerpoo! Stretching his legs and showing off the surrounding countryside.
